Award for Outstanding Service
The Award for Outstanding Service can be awarded to an employee (seconded and contracted employees included). When considering an employee for an AACP Award for Outstanding Service, it must be documented that the employee’s actions were innovative, unique and outside those which are expected from an experienced person doing the same task. Additionally, the consequences of the actions must be deemed important or exceptional at the provincial or regional level.


Award for Volunteer Activities
The Award for Volunteer Activities can be awarded to an employee (all categories) or a civilian who has demonstrated exemplary and/or innovative voluntary activities outside the scope of their regular duties, to the police or community at large, in support of policing operations which impact at a local, municipal, or provincial level.


Award for Crime Prevention & Community Policing Initiatives
The Award for Crime Prevention & Community Policing Initiatives can be awarded to an Employee (including Civilian Employee), or uniformed seconded employee, citizens and community groups.


Indigenous Award of Distinction
As a movement forward in honoring the relationship between Indigenous peoples within the Province of Alberta and Policing, the AACP is proud to establish the Indigenous Award of Distinction to empower and recognize individuals working within police agencies to work alongside Indigenous Peoples in Alberta, to foster an environment of mutual respect and reciprocity. The Indigenous Award of Distinction recognizes an individual who has gone above and beyond their regular duties to improve the overall wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples within Alberta. This award is presented to an individual who has developed key partnership that has succeeded in creating sustainable relationships or programing between Indigenous communities and policing within the Province of Alberta.
